Leftovers

Our Basic Grey Page of the Month for March was using the Konnichiwa papers, and there was a fair bit left after Liz, Jo, Skye and I did our pages together. Liz the smarty pants went home to use the rest and not to be outdone (but of course she already has) I decided that I would use old things to make a page and incorporate something from this kit too. It was hard!
I really like new things!
So, I had a go, and this sat on my desk for so long… And gathered a whole lot of plastering dust along the way. I got back to it this Easter and this is what I came up with.

It has some paper on it that is years old and I was pretty happy to dig out that Mothers Day quote from my stash. See! Knew I would use it one day!
Scrunched up some old flowers too, my favorite thing to do with these since I saw Jenny do this at retreat last year and tucked a few of those Basic grey flowers in to tie in with the papers. Certainly not my favourite layout, but happy to use old things and get another photo scrapped to put in the album.

I loved this day, Mothers Day, at the end of the day, Mum and I, with the 3 youngest kidlets, headed to the beach for some photos. It got dark to quick and we missed the sunset, but the kids were happy to run about and get a little wet, playing in the sand and the surf. A lovely memory.

New things, pretty things

Nothing like new things to inspire you and the new ranges have been inspiring Natalie aplenty!

Here is a page she worked on today using the new Sunkiss Range. I love the layers, even the bottom layer has texture past that has been embossed and glimmered. Nat has used the new papers, journal cards (cleverly used as frames for her gorgeous photos), alphabet stickers, as well as the famous Prima flowers.

The Prima “SONGBIRD” collection of papers is soft and pretty. Here she has used delicious Prima flowers, Twiddlychip, tea-dyed muslin and Prima embellishments, that little bird on a branch is cut from one of the papers. I can also see a few Collections butterflies hidden in there too. Always fun looking at Natalies’ work, the more you look, the more you see.

Flowers make me happy

New ranges hit the shelves today!

Usually its the flowers I drool over but have you seen the other embellishments? I am in love with the trinkets and wood tickets!
Then there’s tiles, and journal notes and alphabets, so many great products to work with… I just wanna scrap now!

Learn to Pick Your Battles

k, this is seriously funny!
Go read this now.
http://thebloggess.com/2011/06/and-thats-why-you-should-learn-to-pick-your-battles/

Too funny huh? I think we could be the very best friends ever! If only we weren’t in different countries. Haha. I love how she writes, I love to read it, and wish I could be so bold… but alas no. I am not bold. Not bold as brass like she is. Knock knock.. TOO FUNNY! but I just can’t do it. (haha… rolls away laughing) Oh she is wicked.

So… this week the shop has seen some Prima come and some Prima go… we have had restock of all our A4 invitation lines. I have been ordering so many new lovely ranges that Kira is a little concerned where it all is going to go. No fear.. we will fit it in like we always have (somewhere). Our sales are still on till the end of the month and slowly the racks are emptying. Most of the punches are gone now, just a couple left, so our main line is Martha Stewart with more of her punches arrving next week. Love those border punches. Just sayin’.

Last weekend my family was invited to our friends’ farm to see the lambs. Oh.. so beautiful! I treasure days like that.. out with my kids, chatting, laughing and seeing them experience new things… like riding on the back of a ute (shh… not allowed to do that) and patting a week old lamb, talking to an ancient sheep and chasing birds… and seeing through the scope of a shotgun. Things my kids will remember for a long time what a lovely afternoon we had, we really did, in so many ways. Being my first day off this school holidays (Sunday) I took my camera along to try to catch up on my 365 project. I got some lovely shots. Here are some to share.

Hey Ewe! 160 / 365
Mammas and Babies are everywhere you look on our friends’ farm this weekend. Love these black-faced sheep with their little black babies, mostly twins!

Prima goodness

Whilst we wait for our CHA orders to come in and our stocks have run very low on our favourite brands,  I thought a little Prima might be nice to tide us over for a while.

This one is called Angel Eyes.

Could I love it any more?

Just looking at this “about video” by Prima makes me love them all the more. Handmade, unique and breathtakingly beautiful. When all our flowers arrive for us to put on our pages,  I think I might just appreciate them even more now.

and here’s another something I didn’t think I could love any more… but I do so more and more everyday… my baby girl in her red coat.

Out for a walk 153 / 365
Another busy day, so I have used a photo from the weekend. Used a little selective colouring for the Bougainvillea and of course THAT coat.
Had so much fun playing with this series. Shame my battery went flat because I could have photographed her all day!

Take care of you. xx

I love making cards, and a love it when we get to use different papers and products to make them unique and special. I believe cards need to be special.

Do you love handmade cards?

Why?

Here’s a couple closer. What a lovely job these ladies did in class today.

Sweet Fairy

This range is beautiful and selling fast. The uber talented Natalie Perks has been at it again and has created a couple of pages with this Sweet Fairy range. I love how versatile it is, combining cutesy little faires with the more ‘grown-up’ images of roses… and the colours… there is finally something lovely with purple included! Nat’s pages are at the bottom of this post.

Just beautiful!

Prima Goodness

There’s new Prima in store… we go a little ga-ga over the new papers and flowers it’s sure… but we also have headbands! There’s only a few (12… actually 10 now because we HAD to have a couple) so you had better get in quick. I wasn’t sure what we’d be up for, ordering headbands.. and wanted to see if they were ok.. if they were nice… if they fit… and what they were made of.

I wasn’t sure we would actually want them.

If they were wearable.

Well… the answer is yes. Tonight, child #2 and I prettied up a pink one and it turned out beautiful. We had fun, chatting and playing with flowers and pearls, then capturing it on camera. Love having a girl to play with!
