Tonight there was no class, but we still met up anyway for a bit of inky fun. I love watching Michelle go crazy with the Dylusions sprays – she loves colour that’s for sure!
She had an idea and wanted to see how it would play out in real life, the first layer being lots of colour. Next she played with acrylic paint and glass bead gel medium to create large petals in a kaleidoscope of colour. It was 3/4 done when she left tonight, but I’ll be sure to grab a photo to share when I see her later in the week.
Eva also got very busy, taking on a few interesting projects.
She loves to paint with her fingers! I can’t wait to see the finished pages.
Me, I sat with a couple of blank gesso pages for a while.
I decided to use teal and purple, and to add texture paste mixed with teal as a frame, then to stamp the rubber stamp into it to add dimension
A bit of stamping with some black and white penning and it was done!
The journaling reads
Those who are happiest never did have everything
They are thankful for everything they do have
Love that quote, live that quote. ❤
I had a few minutes whilst “waiting for mate” tonight and saw this Dusty Attic Caddy sitting on the end of the table. Sandie had brought it in and it was put together, just clicked in place, it didn’t even need glue, tight fit!
It was looking very plain though, and I only had a couple of minutes till my friends were due to arrive so I wondered what to do with it that would be quick. Not really wanting to get the modpodge out (well, more to the point I didn’t want to wash brushes) My first instinct was to Glimmermist it, quick and easy. Then I decided that would not be pretty enough, so I grabbed a roll of Washi tape and went to work- a few minutes later it was covered! It adheres so nicely, conforming to the edges where the chipboard has a lip. You could use almost any colour it pattern, I chose a busy floral pattern so it wouldn’t matter if I overlapped or if it didn’t line up.
For the inside – not wanting any overspray, I brushed on Brick Glimmermist with a soft brush.
Done – this used just over half a roll of tape, and it fits a family of 12 Dylusions sprays or Glimmermists! We also have the large caddies if you have more in your family.
Have a great night
Monday is a good day, because at the end if it I get to be with 11 creative ladies and learn some cool stuff! I get ink on my fingers (although I think Eva has way more than me) and come home with a page almost complete in my art journal and inspired to do more.
Tonight Michele taught us a cool technique and we all embraced it and came up with vey different looking pages following her steps the through the layers.
How cool is this? Thank you Michelle for an awesome class!
It was so fun going around seeing what everyone was up to – each in their own little creative zone! I didn’t catch photos of everyone but here’s a few to share
Julie took a while tonight to find her groove and when she did she was on fire! Colours are her thing, she does them so well! Look at that vibrant green!
Lorraine and Josie getting inky.
There was no stopping Suzie tonight, she had two on the go! Just beautiful!
When you’ve finished looking at this fabulous page by Eva, check out her fabulously inky fingers! Love that saying Eva!
Minnie really makes me smile, not only is her work gorgeous, but you should see her face when she learns something new and cool, now that is gorgeous!
and I leave you with this one…
I assume it is Janice’s, but can’t be 100% sure, I kinda got a bit sidetracked and I don’t think the owner was about when I snapped this pic… edit – I spy Eva’s gorgeous apron and see now that is it her second page! These girls are too clever! Love it!
Remember to breathe.
